What is Chicago Jrs all about?
We are a junior development club that provides quality physical and psychological training and competition. Celebrating its 24th season, Chicago Jrs offers individualized instruction targeting the enhancement of a player's overall performance on the court. This is the most prominent, and unique quality of Chicago Jrs which sets them apart from other clubs. Chicago Jrs staff are committed in providing a program of excellence in their athletes to develop every player into the best athlete and person she can be. The administration also prides itself in its professionalism and organizational skills that provides an easy club format and schedule for members to follow.
At Chicago Jrs, we try to create the most complete, positive, motivating, invigorating, educational and fun atmosphere as possible. We truly believe and have witnessed both players and parents enjoying the season by making new friends and finish with very life endearing memories of their experiences with Chicago Jrs!
Can Multi-sport athletes play on CJVBC teams?
Yes, a number of multi-sport athletes play at Chicago Jrs, especially in the younger age divisions.
How many teams does CJVBC have?
It will always depend on the number of athletes who try out for the club. Most years we field 2 teams in each age division, 18/17's, 16's, 15's, 14's, 13's, 12's.
How many players on each team?
No more than 12 players per team.
Does CJVBC have boys teams?
No, not at the present time.
Where do the teams practice?
Chicago Jrs uses various facilities to practice at. The practice sites are:
Chicago Agricultural School, 3857 W 111th St, Chicago
Palos Courts, 1220 S Ridgeland Ave, Palos Park
Queen of Peace High School, 7654 S. Lindner / Burbank
Lemont High School, 800 Porter Rd, Lemont
How much do teams practice?
Teams will practice 2-3 sessions per week. This includes on court time plus weight and speed, agility and quickness training (except for 12 & Unders). Each team will practice 2 to 2 & 1/2 hours, per session.
How long is the season?
For 18's, 17's, 16's, 15's, 14',s 13's, practice will begin sometime in November thru May (unless the team qualifies for USAV Nationals or the club decides to attend the AAU Nationals in Florida, mid June). The 12 & Under season will begin with one practice a week in February and 2 practices per week starting in March. They will end their season at the end of May.
What does it cost?
Dues vary with each age group. Please contact the club director for specific pricing. Dues and costs can also be found in the Chicago Jrs Handbook.
What do you get for your money?
Chicago Jrs are all inclusive, except for travel expenses.
Dues include:
- Facility fees
- Coaching fees
- USAV/AAU membership registration
- Uniforms - 2 jersey, 2 spandex, knee pads
- Tournament entry fees (except for National and out of town tournaments)
- Administrative expenses
Are there any payment arrangements?
The club offer three different payment schedules to help your individual financial needs. One, payment can be made in full. Two, a 3 part payment plan extended over 3 months. Three, a payment plan extended over 6 months. Payment plans can be discussed and verified at Registration night following the tryout.
